Bo Staff training is much more than a “weapon’ or self defense tool.
Learning to use a long stick with grace and ease develops whole body
coordination, balance, stability, and has been shown to benefit brain
function as well. Spencer’s Bo Staff classes cover basic methods of
standing and holding, moving, and patterns with a stick from our
tradition which began in the 1300s, Japan. This course is appropriate
for all ages and is fun to workout along with for arm strength and
general body conditioning in a gentle, low impact way.
